WHO WE ARE
Hydro Surf has been a foundation of the Dunedin surf scene since its beginnings in 1985.
Leroy Rust is one of NZ’s most respected and accomplished surfers and heads up Hydro Surf School operations. He is joined by a team of amazing Qualified coaches who create a safe and fun learning environment where you can grow your skill and love of surfing at your own pace.
Our coaches are there with you throughout your lesson giving you positive instruction and guidance, they know all the tricks of the trade and love sharing them with you. We teach Surf/Beach safety which is hugely important to us as we want you to feel confident going into the water. Surf etiquette and of course how to catch and ride your wave.
Our lessons are tailored to the Individual/Group/Retreat and environment. We thrive on seeing you achieve your best through surfing, something that may challenge you but at the same time ignite a passion for surfing and a connection to the ocean and to you.
We have a strong surfing culture in Dunedin and are spoilt for choice along our beautiful coastlines for surf breaks ranging from smaller fun beach breaks to more advanced waves.
